One of the biggest issues is not making sure both sides are clean, clean, clean! Use a really good glass cleaner to clean the glass and the surface of the suction mount. Failing that, yes, some double sided tape may be the needed solution.

The only time mine fall off either front or rear is during really hot weather, otherwise they stay in place for months Paul,

On my Freelander 2 they stayed on the front and back for 3 years but as you say, in hot weather they can drop off. Have cleaned windows but suspect its something to do with ridges in the rear glass so may try double sided tape and see how that goes. |

Have ordered some 3M stickers from Amazon that say they are for dashcams and other things. Hoping they will work. |

Problem solved, about £4 from Amazon for 2 50mm 3M clear stickers, and now not dropped once in over a week. |
