Hair drier and fine fishing line / dental floss? .

Oh wow. That is some dodgy spoiler install 😬🤣 I really don’t like using that stuff for such installs.

Anyway, I would warm it up as well. Remove the spoiler. Then use tar remover and possibly one of those gum wheels on a rotary tool to get the remainder off.

It will be really hard to remove that without damage. And use 3M automotive double sided tape to put the spoiler back on.

Cut the largest bits off with a scalpel, keep blade horizontal to bodywork. Then use silicone sealant remover, try the remover on paint first where it will not be seen. That and plastic tool, such as from a trim tool kit, as this should not scratch your pride and joy.

If you have to start the job all over again, apply the minimum sized bead of sealant required, then spray the whole area ( Including the sealant bead ) with a mix of water / soap, such as fairy liquid etc till it's soaking wet, then run you finger along the sealant, you will get a superb finish and the excess sealant will only stick to you finger. Let sealant go off and rinse with clean water, watched professional bathroom fitters do this, very simple, easy and effective.

Edit - Just posted this and read Blackdog's comment as to the spoiler fitting, perhaps the installer was reading the instructions by Braille Rolling with laughter Looks like the stuff was applied with a trowel. Shocked

Warm the area, nylon fishing line to slice through the silicone. Once removed, screwfix do a half decent silicone remover that doesnt seem to attack paintwork but do test it first or a toffee wheel in a drill used with care.

Cheers all. I'll give some of them a try later this week. I've ordered a toffee wheel and going to stop into halfrauds n get some tar removal etc

Truth is it was me that fitted it but I got distracted and completely forgot about it. Ended up having too put the whole car on hold for a few months courtesy of the shebeast so it was nicknamed the dustbru

Sure the following pics explain the nickname 🙄

How much dust!!! Do you live in a desert??

Also, that reminds me of my kids bedrooms.
