Sounds like the TC has not located on it's fitting and is pushing against the flex plate, there is a tool to hold it engaged while you fit the box, the movement of fitting the box can make the TC come off it's seating and cause your symptoms, I afraid it's a box out again job to sort it... Pete

We checked that . We left the box in park when we took it out. Have put it in neutral but makes no difference. |

Don't know what to suggest then, a TC not seated is a common issue and the flex plate should be spinable by hand, it shouldn't need anything else.... Pete

Thanks pete. We have had the box out once already as the tc was not engaged correctly as you said. Looks like it may have disengaged again and you are probably right. Thanks for your replies pete very grateful for help |

Could it be possible that we have fitted the flywheel the wrong way round? It seems further back towards the engine block than it was |

Never done the job on that engine, I suppose it's possible, there should be witness marks on the bolts that hold it and the TC on, I would have thought it would be pretty obvious but you never know...
