If you fill in your profile with vehicle details, it helps when you ask questions...

Are you talking about an oil cooler, wasn't aware any fatties had an auxiliary radiator..! Pete

will try and fill out my profile when i can work out how.
Sorry its a 2007 3.6 and its sprang a leak just under the drivers side wing. There appears to be an aluminium radiator there and its leaking just on the joint where the pipe goes in. Is it the FBH does this have a radiator?
Thanks

Thanks Pete, i have just short circuited it anyway, it is for the FBH radiator.
Hopefully someone can point me in the direction of one.
I am reluctant to say this but in my 15 months of ownership its the first fault i have had. I had a disco 3 before that and that was painful. Was a member of that forum for many years.

Out on a limb here, but I think the rad you refer to on the drivers side is an additional engine cooler for "arduous conditions".

Mine's an 11MY but do have a look in the WM in the WIKI for yours. The FBH merely? provides heating to the engine or cabin heater matrix depending on temps. Cheers
Richard

So guys what’s the purpose of the small rad in the drivers side front end on a 3.6 v8 diesel (uk)?

It is an auxiliary engine coolant radiator.

2007-10 workshop manual seems to indicate this is to help the cooling system cope with arduous conditions or when towing.

"Due to package constraints an auxiliary radiator is required to maintain acceptable coolant temperatures under
arduous driving conditions such as high-load and high ambient temperatures. This radiator is located in the in
the RH wheel arch area, with cooling airflow supplied by a dedicated aperture in the front bumper. The
auxiliary radiator is connected in parallel with the main radiator, with the coolant flow being controlled by the
main engine thermostat
." .

It’s behaving brilliantly. Top car but well looked after by yourself. Shows the importance of buying a car from somebody that has looked after it.
