This is a bit long, but highlights everything I think I've I've learnt in the last 14 months before deciding what I'm going to do.

Specifically a Freelander 1. The nickname came from an advert Land Rover ran featuring a Freelander 1 in a river with two hippos in front of it. Dunc. I blanked my EGR's and about 3 years later the EGR threw an error, cleared the faults and bought the map from BAS, no more errors. |

bgennette, why bother with the through pipe ? Isn't it just adding more work to sort the EGR water pipes etc. On mine, I blanked the EGRs at both ends & initially left the EGRs connected electrically. As Red Hot One" I got EGR faults after some time (12 months on mine) and EML though. I left the the faulty EGRs in place & just connected the engine electrical connectors to some good second hand EGRs - which can be easily changed again if they eventually fail and generate engine faults again.
