Thanks, Pete.

Just ordered another one for the upper lid.

Cheers,

The second cubby box damper arrived this morning and has now been fitted to the top lid. A bit of a trial to fit because there's sod-all information out there on how to do it.

So....

You'll need T15, T20 and two T30 Torx screwdrivers (ideally, 2 T30 sockets on ratchets, a T15 and a T20 screwdriver)

Open the top lid and undo the 7 T15 Torx screws holding the upholstered top in place.
This will now come off but it's tethered by the top of the damper.
Reach in with a small screwdriver or long-nosed pliers and remove the circlip then push the clevis pin out (I used the pliers on my Leatherman Wave).
Move the passenger seat forward so that you can get at the cubby box hinge.
Using the T30 ratchets undo the passenger side end of the hinge and prise the silver trim cover off
Using the T20 screwdriver undo the bolt holding the bottom of the damper in place.

Reassemby is the reverse of disassembly (to quote a famous car maintenance publication).
I'd be tempted to do the top of the damper first otherwise you're working with a restricted amount of room to get the clevis pin and circlip back in (ask me how I know! Rolling Eyes ) and you might want to grow a third arm to hold the lid in the right place while you get the lower damper bolt back in. Alternatively, do what I did and get someone to help you!

Good luck.

Decided that I didn't like the white side repeaters.

Looks much better after a wash. If you're in the Midlands I highly recommend LCW Mobile car care. Alex is a really nice bloke and does a cracking job.

Since I took these photos I've taken the sidesteps and front mudflaps off.

Replaced the DAB module with a later Jag DAB+ one.

More channels available now.

It's reasonably straightforward, just fiddly.

Took about an hour, all told. Needed an adaptor to convert from two pin to four pin power connector, part number LR032814.

Looking good dunc, the wind deflectors set it off a treat. I never seen them ones before that go to the rear boot window, think they set the cars off brilliant. Chefkenmore got them on his and sent me a link to buy them, so i did and fitted them last week. You're not that far from me, I'll probably see you around sometime.

With mine fitted.
