Yep, it's time to take off the rotting, rust riddled top tailgate and replace with the second hand one that I bought and had painted before Christmas !! Any tips and advice please, especially if you've done this yourself

Ok...it's DONE !
Not to difficult really so long as there are 2 of you for lifting and positioning, you have a bit of patience and you take a few photos on your phone as you remove wires.All bolts came out easily.
Have drowned the inside with waxoyl. Just need the letters putting on now.
Have listed my old one on ebay because although it looks manky along the bottom seam, now its off it looks fixable with a bit of sanding down, rust treating and seam sealer.

Did you seal the hinge against the body to stop leaks? Known weak point for water ingress. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Ooooppps No. Will do each hinge then but separately as it was a booger to get the gap on the tailgate equal.
