Coolant query

Can someone please confirm which coolant I need for my 4.2SC please?

Replacing the thermostat this week and will obviously lose some coolant.

Currently have a pink ish colour in the reservoir bottle if this helps.

If you put your registration number into Halfords it will tell you which ones will suit... Thumbs Up Pete

If you already have orange (OAT) in then use that. Don't mix as the blue and orange react and form a gel like substance which clogs the system (so I have reliably been informed). There is lots on here ref coolant so a search might provide further authority.

Thanks for the replies folks, have searched several times and yet again get conflicting advice.
Some post say use the pink if that’s your normal colour already.
Others say the colours don’t necessarily mean you have oat or silicate etc.

Might just need to do a coolant change and then I know what’s in it for sure. 2005 (55) Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE Java Black

Halfords checker can't be right as it comes up with every type of coolant under the sun for my FFRR when I put the registration in, G48, G40, OAT, Silicate based, etc. Don't know if that's just me?

So, try this checker from Comma, I've found it to be accurate for all my cars:

https://www.commaoil.com/

Also Opie Oils web site is very accurate, but can on occasion come up with only one suggestion (for example for my TDV8 4.4, they only suggest one specific Castrol antifreeze) :

Halfords brings up silicate and g48 based on my reg number.

If this so true though that leads me to thing the red/pink coolant I have now is wrong but have seen it in other posts as being correct.....

Totally confused now Confused 2005 (55) Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE Java Black

Having just had my oil cooler changed by my outstanding, 25 yr LR experienced indie, along with a full coolant change, he has put this in. But mines a diesel 4.4TDV8 - just seen yours is a SC 4.2 so may be different.

I use Prestone in any car I needed it for, it will mix with any car coolant no need to worry.
Halfords or toolstation sell it

Use OAT in mine. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

Sierra Estate 1993-1997
