I'm sure I'm not imagining things but when I reverse out of my house and put the gearbox in Drive there is no movement until at least 1500 rpm and sometime 2000 rpm. I'm sure it pulls away better once it has warmed up a bit.

Am I making it up or is this an issue I ought to be concerned about?

156K miles 2004 TD6 (had engine and gearbox fluid changed about a year ago)

It's typical.

Some days it starts moving around 1k rpm. Other days 1.5k rpm. On a few occasions it still isn't moving by 2.5k rpm.

I can live with most things but the latter is a bit of a concern.

Although mines a 405 I noticed the same thing, got some reassurance on here that it’s normal for diesels starting from cold as it warms the engine up faster. Geoff
