New key fob working intermittently

Gents , I had a new key replaced through my insurance company by the AA. Everything was fine at first but just lately it’s working intermittently. Sometimes I push the key fob and nothing happens, Although the red light flashes on the key. I’ve fitted a new battery in the key just in case ) I can open the car manually, sometimes the central locking works sometimes not. I haven’t been using the car to frequently as I’m off work . Could it be due to the fact the battery isn’t fully charged due to me not using the car as I do normally? When I called the AA who sent out a technician to check out the problem, He said that this may be the cause off the problem as I’m not using the car, Any advise is appreciated, Thanks in Advance Mark 2004 vogue

hopefully you have put a duracell in the fob...other makes might or might not work properly but the duracell tends to be the better battery..h ... - .- -.
