Very high pitch noise after switching off engine

Good day all, can anyone help on an issue with my 2006 vogue. When i switch the engine off, sometimes, for varying lengths of time, I get a very high pitch noise coming from the dash / engine bay, not very loud and time varies before this stops. This will continue after operating central locking. No other current problems,No fault messages displayed and using a diagnostic reader / reset device - no faults or codes displayed, would be grateful for any help as this is slowly driving me nuts. Happens only when the engine bay is hot? Maybe the small cooling fan at the bottom of the 'electronics box' in the engine bay. Comes on when the air inside the box reaches a certain temperature (there's a thermostat), and vents into the ventilation air intake so can sound like it's coming from the dash. Had a similar problem - fan bearings dry and it squealed horribly. Took motor out, motor commutator heavily worn so got a 2nd hand one, gave it a clean and oil, and fitted that.

Mine does it randomly as well. My Hyundai Santa fe used to do it a lot. I would think it's from an ECU or some electrical component.

Many thanks for the advice, will check the fan tomorrow and see what I find, at least there is one upside to being a FFRR owner, you learn an awful lot about diagnosing faults hoho.
