I’m sure they will do something and I’m sure That will come in the form of where their electricity comes from.

Who can offer fully Zero carbon energy from renewables from their charging stations. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I think this is one of those debates that’ll never be settled. The people that use the so called premium petrol/diesel products will claim it increases engine longevity and improves performance and economy.

Whilst those that don’t will say they’re saving money by using the standard product.

And there really isn’t anything out there that proves either case conclusively.

Was looking into the 100% renewable energy thing. There are larger companies now on the bandwagon. E.on who I’m with also claim 100% renewable. How they achieve this I don’t know. But it helps settle the conscience for having a fattie. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I always use premium. Have used BP Ultimate for years but since they stopped doing Nectar points, I have moved to Esso Supreme+ Diesel (B7).

If you are looking for fuel economy then you are driving the wrong motor. The premium fuel helps the engine run cleaner and better. Personally, since I started using Vpower then Ultimate and now Supreme Synergy, my FFRR has never smoked on hard acceleration.

I see other FFRRs driving by leaving a think clock when over taking. Current:
- L560 Velar HSE R-Dynamic D180
- Peugeot 508 2011 - 2.2 HDi GT

Past:
- FFRR V 2010 - 3.6 TDV8
- Citroen C4 1.6i Petrol
- Mitsubishi Shogun 3.2 DID
- Peugeot 607 2.2 HDi
- Nissan Primera 1.8 SVE
- Honda Civic 1.6 VTEC

That, and having good quality chargers. The charger itself can make a huge difference in the experience.

It is silly to compare and suggest that electricity is similar like different kind of fuel. It isn't when its at rest, but it can be when you transport it.

No, I'm sure just like premium fuels BP and Shell will get their boffins to really optimize the electron flow to give you more miles per kilowatt, more performance, longer lasting motor and better for the environment. Im sure there will be just as many EV drivers suckered into spending extra on fuel as there are petrol / diesel drivers buying premium fuels for little / no gain. Thats my point, me? never use premium fuels and bog standard electricity dispensed from a home designed wallbox \ charger.

A Trap 

I agree, I am sure Shell, BP and others will sell Premium EV charges with extra cleaning additives and higher grade elect‘RON’ additives to make your electric motors run smoother, cleaner and produce more power and lower emissions... there will be nice glossy videos everywhere as ‘evidence’.

Reminds me of the cigarette manufacturers or gun manufacturers using ‘independent’ scientists ‘proving’ their products are ‘good’ for you 🤦‍♂️
