My 2006 td6’s upper tailgate is starting to split along the bottom lip on the o/a about 15cms has anyone had this?? Is it repairable or do I need to find a upper tailgate from a scrap car ?

Well known problem, especially on newer cars, if that makes sense. Have a search, lots of mentions and suggestions on fitting an ealier upper as the steel is considered better. Cheers

As I understand it yes.

Have a search on here, I think you'll find folks suggesting the same as you are and as far as I can tell from comments the change is simple, especially if you get one with all the glass/seals intact and only have to change any trims. Cheers
