He’s right mate. I have factory RSE and there are many many different components to it. It was a £2500 option.

When you’ve done, it still won’t be HD or able to play from a USB or anything.

Better with a tablet mount nowadays....

Just my 2p.

I have to say that I disagree with some of the other comments for my personal circumstances. My kids are at the age where being able to control the screens from the front myself is paramount. I kept an eye out for a long time for the right breaker and eventually it came along. I paid £250 for all the parts needed and some extras too, in fact, by the time I sold the other bits I came out even just about!

It wasn’t easy but once I hit n mmmnnnn y head around the wiring diagrams in the workshop manual it was doable. I used a vin decoder to get the ccf settings from the donor car so that I knew exactly what options to select. Used the iid tool to make the changes and have never looked back.

I have to say that if my kids were teens that I would def go down the tablet route but mine are 2&3 so the factory rse really was worth it for me.

One thing I did find was that the wiring loom in the rangie is not the best! One of the places I needed to solder into was basically a couple of wires folded together with tape around them. At first I thought my car was bodged so I checked a buddies and it was exactly the same. Shocking work on such a prestige motor! Lol

I should add though, that mine already had tv in it so less components needed and less wiring to do front to back!

I don’t have kids so I didn’t really consider different age groups. Just thought of kids of an age that could work a tablet.

Fair point... if you have young kids and have the time and parts....

I still wouldn't do it. The quality is terrible (was great for its time but times have moved on). Besides children don't need that, have a chat with them, sing a song together. When they were at that age we did mainly driving holidays down to Italy and Spain, no issues whatsoever. Always looking at a screen isn't good for anyones eyes.

Danwilderspin - what you want for it, may know someone who is interested. And I would be interested in the headrests if they are ivory as mine have a little damage to the leather.
