I certainly hope that a new EV will come soon, either as an L460 (would be perfect!) or as a Road Ranger build on the same MLA platform https://www.motor1.com/news/444571/range-r...ed-report/. Even if the Norwegian market is small, a new full EV RR would be a huge success here locally due to the no tax policy for zero combustion vehicles (pure EVs and hydrogen vehicles). I’ve personally already been in contact with the local LR dealer to put me on the “waiting list” if/when a new RR EV get released, either the Road Ranger or - hopefully - as EV version of the new L460.

I don't like the idea of an ICE RR converted to a BEV, the architectures are too different. You won't get the full benefit of the BEV in terms of weight distribution and packaging. I know other manufactures are doing it, but I wouldn't buy one.

Since you're asking: &ab_channel=EVOpinion The Tesla Model X is rated to tow 5,000 pounds (give or take 2250 kg) and even has a Trailer Mode that will automatically level the suspension and turn off rear proximity sensors (mostly) when towing a trailer. Like a significant amount of L405 owners, I do not tow 3.5 ton. I did take my L405 off road and my L322, but as you will appreciate not that many owners do. Now the Tesla model X can go through a field, down the motorway and indeed tow. but hopefully, the EV RR will be able to do it even better indeed. Now, when the Cybertruck show up early next year... Agree - a BEV RR with decent Range (!) would be perfect. Reg platforms: If I understand correctly, the MLA platform will be able to support both full EVs, MHEV and PHEV, so I hope they have designed it to contain sufficient battery capacity for an BEV, like the new XJ and the RR EV model. |

EV range plummets when towing, and 2 1/4 tonnes isn't much practical use either. Also very certain a Model X wouldn't get much further than most UK field gates. |

They've already said that the existing profiles will remain for the EVs - I suspect the looks of the I-Pace (which I like) are a negative in the marketplace (hence the very reactionary e-tron, EQC etc). |

I use my L405 to tow 3500kg (and definitely no more....) very regularly. I also take it off road - nothing to extreme but certainly more than just across a grass verge every now and again. That being said I know I’m probably in the minority. If you have your Range Rover for town / motorway use only then crack on, I can’t fault you one bit, but if it were me I would most definitely have something Tesla’ry. - Corris Grey 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8

Allegro: I had two of them, early 80s. 2nd was beige on beige, with dark-beige quartic wheel. I am in the 0.00001% "love them" camp. It was like captaining a top-heavy motor cruiser on backup outboard in a stiff breeze while reclined in an old-favourite armchair. Vroom for five! |
