Wheel Nut Recommendations

Can anybody recommend a good place to buy wheel nuts.

There seems to be a plethora of suppliers with prices ranging wildly. I don’t mind paying a premium if I get a premium product. I would imagine there are many ‘duff’ sets out there.

Lr-trade parts are doing a set of 20 for £49 that look ok. There are many sets that are cheaper that don’t look ok Sad

Any recommendations gratefully received Thumbs Up

Wrington Engineering - very expensive but probably the best. Geoff

Craig is selling some JLR solid nuts at a very good price, but I think he has only got black.

I just got some off LR direct. OEM.

They are only a couple of quids each, so I tend to just buy a few to have on hand then check and swap out the swollen ones periodically rather than dumping a whole load of cash into a set of stainless ones. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

N MJ,
I like your method, but don’t let them get too bad.
I had one where the stainless steel cover was swollen but when I tried to remove it the cover started to spin and leave the iron inner stuck holding the wheel. Luckily a bit of careful persuasion with a hammer and chisel got it removed without damaging the wheel.
At that point I went solid nuts all round and binned the locking nuts.

Quick walk round every couple of months with a socket is all it takes. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the recommendations.

supershuttle I see what you mean about price, I would be afraid someone would pinch the wheel nuts and leave the wheels behind Rolling with laughter Although even from the pictures they do look well made.

I have these on mine...

£24 for 20 when I purchased.

I applied a small bead of clear silicone around the base of the nut cap to prevent any dirt and crud getting in there and causing premature corrosion/swelling. Time will tell. Kev

I opted for these. Simply because they were one piece, so hopefully no cap to go pear shaped Confused
