07 supercharged won’t start?

Hi all - had - may be coincidental I don’t know. Had an eml on this evening. Plugged in laptop with sdd to see what it was, closed the session and disconnected sdd. Anyway I then put in my gap tool to clear the fault (easier than faffing on sdd I find but needed sdd to look at the fault count). Anyway took the key out the ignition and it binged constantly saying key in ignition when I opened the door?!? So I thought I know I’ll start it then turn it off.. key would not turn! Took it out flipped it upside down and eventually it turned however it would not start Sad

I then put the iid tool back in and the pcm has lost communication with immobiliser and the cluster says lost control with security control..

I then tried to read the faults on the immobiliser and it says it cannot find the module.

I then got out and none of the central locking buttons work! Great! Tried the other key the same! Great!

Any ideas of where to start? Battery is good it only a year old.. where is the immobiliser do they go bad? Can I replace a duff one? Any advise welcome!

First thing I would do is a hard reset, disconnect battery go for a cup of tea, check battery is good and reconnect.

You never know it might work, it cleared some faults on mine last year. Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged 2006

I’ll do it in the morning and will check the battery hasn’t discharged too much. Where is the immobiliser if I need to find it ? Current stable:

I’d check the battery voltage. If it’s dipped whilst you’ve been on diagnostics all sorts of strange things can happen.

As above, sounds suspiciously like a simple flat battery... Oh too easy to overlook when stuff goes wrong! Thumbs Up
