it says
but where is it


can some one point me to the control please RR 2005 4.4 petrol
Any spelling mistakes are the fault of spellchecker

Often the number in front of the section refers to the associated diagram with the same number being the control aka button you press.

I don’t have it like that on my 2010MY L322 but like on the Audi my wife has it is the OBC button on the stalk.

Primarily used on ships and boats for the housing of the compass.

The root is interesting:

Etymology

A compass binnacle in front of the ship's wheel.

Before 18th century bittacle, through French bitacle, from Latin habitaculum, a little dwelling.

So a little house (housing) for the instruments. John

yes i just found that
the picture above is on page 53 (press and hold the control)
after searching i found page 10 has the answer (system check control)
now WHY didnt i know to go to page 10, must be thick, yes i know i am RR 2005 4.4 petrol

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Alaska White

Binnacle was a term commonly used for the main instrument hosing on the Classic Range Rover. On those cars it was a small box like enclosure that sat ON TOP of the dash. On later cars (I think it was about the time they started importing them to the US) the instruments are part of the dash the same as most other cars. Old habits die hard!
