My 2004 4.4 got heavy steering when the power steering pump was failing, but not so on/off. But tight lower speed turns would be where one would notice it most.

This happened on my Jaguar when battery was low, not sure if it's applicable to the RR. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

Yes if that battery is low it happens on the range rover mine did it a couple of times before I swopped out the battery |

Presume you've checked the power steering fluid level? |

failing servotronic valve or bcm, loads re those on the forum... ... - .- -.

There is a wire connection that can break on the Valve - was resoldered when it happenned to me & been fine for 5 yrs |

My wife said there came a message in the info senter in the speedo, but unfortinally, she's not that used to reading English, and she was rather stressed trying to get thru the roandaboat not hitting the curbs.

my car had a similar problem which was caused by a failing alternator!

Ok, I have noticed the alternator do take some time after startup, before charging correctly. Dont know if thats a bad sign🤔 |
