United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

1984 I think (not long after I hit 17) - In my Dads (soon to be mine) T-reg Gold Mk2 Escort 1.6 Ghia Very Happy

I failed first time - speeding on the one and only stretch of dual carriageway they had on the Isle of Wight! Was an instant fail, the examiner didn't even bother to take me through the rest of the test Big Cry

Passed a few weeks later - same examiner too!

Used to ride a motorbike (VF400 or 450 if memory recalls) but never took a test - it was the sort of thing you used to do growing up on the Island back in those days Whistle
Needless to say I don't ride a motorbike anymore - one too many spills & thrills Current

Instructors car Renault 5 derv. 12 lessons including using two for the test. Really my old man taught me to drive in my 1969 mini, the lessons were to make sure I was doing it properly 😀. Still got the mini today.

That's awesome - one of the reasons I bought my RR is/was to be able to tow my 1989 (basically brand new compared to yours!) Mini back home from the UK! Smile

Driving on the wrong side of the road should be an instant fail. letters not necessarily in the right order

Is that one of those Beemers which was once advertised as having an interchangeable steering wheel? Might explain why as well as the car being on the wrong side of the road the wheel is on the wrong side of the car........

Mind those 2002s were nice. I remember the Turbo version, as rare as hens teeth in RHD but one was used in hillclimbs in standard road trim. I think the owner had a BMW dealership. Hell of a car.

Had two. Both cars were a real pleasure. The first one was written off when MoH of the time fell asleep at the wheel. She, fortunately, was OK. John

2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Causeway Grey

GPO training van - a bit like a pope mobile. One trainee sat in rear central pope seat while other got hands, fingers and legs bashed on a daily basis with a heavy book: to drive home numerous safe driving points. Two weeks course - which we always used to drag to full term. L-driving all done out in NW London suburbs somewhere, with 13th day trial drive back to central London ( Big Cry ) as test was due on 14th day of learning course.
I even used to get hit with a stick when playing as a young (7 or 8 year old) tennis hopeful... if my posture wasn't correct...
I must have something printed on my forehead saying: Hit Often and with meaning... Rolling Eyes

Laughing

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

2002 in a Peugeot 206 petrol - which was fun since I had mainly learnt in a 306 diesel which appeared to be stuck to the road with a very strong magnet. It was not a great car but it seemed to be able to take any corner at any speed without fuss.

As soon as I passed I went to uni for three years with no car and drove my mum's 1981 Series 3 109 in the holidays. After graduating I got a job in a local small town back home and commuted that beast for two months before I realised a normal car would be better suited. Got a base spec 1.4 Ford Focus, T reg, great machine. 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue
