Reverb buzz vibration sound.

Hi all I have a 4.4tdv8 on a very late 2010. I have a strange noise when at low revs/light throttle. The car makes a reverb or vibration sound, but you don’t feel a vibration. If you press the accelerator a little more it goes away. I never feel it at high speed or at idle?
Any ideas, my local gut I take it too have broken his leg so is out of action for a few weeks.

Any thoughts, it’s a hard noise to describe? I wondered if it could be a heat shield or similar, I never noticed it when I test drove the car and they had the bottom arms changed as part of the service I don’t tknowif there is anything that might of been removed to gain access that might vibrate like an under shield?

Thanks for any help

Strange, I've recently started to get a similar noise after a full service and some work on the brake lines. I get a vibration noise at low revs when under slight load, sounds a little bit like a vibration (buzzing sound) through a plastic drainpipe (if that makes any sense) which seems to be getting a bit louder and more frequent. No noises at all if I put my foot down a bit, but appears under gentle load or when slowing down in slow moving town traffic. I'm thinking either a loose heat shield or something (like a pipe) not secured properly. I've had a quick look under the fattie but can't see anything obvious, may take her backtothe garage and get them to have a look.
Anyone got any ideas or advice where or what to look at.

I'd bet on the heat shields, I've just done the brakepipes on my 2011 and while I was under there I found that practically every shield had corroded through some of or in one case allof the fastener holes.
If nowt else it's a cheap place to start!

Thanks all time to get dirty under the car at the weekend. What do people generally do to them? Remove or replace

You will need to refit the heatshield with new Heatshield nuts.
Part no. for the nuts is: WYH500050
Just ordered some for myself, cost between £1.75 to £4.00 each approx.

The "correct" answer is to refit them - large washers and new nuts generally does the trick however I've got a 3.6 which has had most of the shields removed several years ago and it suffers no ill effect but it hasn't got a DPF generating very high temperatures.
There are some that I wouldn't dream of removing due to the routing of the exhaust/DPF but others look a bit OTT.
So I suppose the short (and not very helpful) answer is "It depends"
