I've got plenty of fuel, it might be a coincidence but I used the FBH for a couple of minutes this morning just to try it out more than anything else - and now the car won't start!

It cranks ok but won't start. The battery eventually wore out, so attaching jump leads from my other car allowed me to try and start it again but it still won't start.

Carsoft i930 says Ive got an 'Immobiliser code word/identification number write failure', which presumably means it won't start because the immobiliser won't let it. This makes sense as it cranks fine.

Any suggestions as to what I should do now? Other than cry  Pikey by name, not by nature

Sorry to hear about your problem, I'm sure most people may suggest a hard reset of the battery ie disconnecting and then touching the leads. This can happen on Fiat cars where the immobiliser can't get the signal it needs which is usually down to a dodgy earth cable or strap coming from battery. Always worth a check while you wait for more replies.

Someone has fitted a 60Ah 500A battery to a car thats supposed to have a 95Ah 850A battery!! Its dwarfed by the battery compartment, its so obviously not the right battery for the car! Pikey by name, not by nature

New battery from Halfords (019 AGM) = car works fine

I could have waited a couple of days and ordered a Bosch one for the same price, but Halfords is just down the road and its the same spec battery and has a 5 year guarantee so I figured I'd just do it now rather than wait.

Who in their right mind would fit such a tiny battery to a Range Rover??!! Pikey by name, not by nature
