Hi Will. It seems to me that the set up and maintenance of the handbrake system is over complicated. I know somebody will chime in and say I did mine wrong. I just left the handbrake off and treated mine like a normal manually operated system to change the shoes. I didn't do all the set that is meant to be done afterwards. I didn't remove any fuses. Perhaps I was lucky but the shoes don't bind and the handbrake works perfectly. |

Thanks for your replies, the thing is that if I put the gearbox in Neutral and turn the engine off the EPB comes on automatically, there seem to be several ways to get the EPB into service mode but they all seem somewhat convoluted and it will be a trial and error event to find which one works on this particular car. My simple mind thought park car, remove fiuse no9, ignition on, box in N ignition off, problem solved. I guess I will have to start thinking complicated solutions to a simple problem. |
