Rover All Comms - First Look

Well my RAC unit turned up today - very pleased with packaging etc. I did have to pay an additional £16 to get it in the country (£8 VAT and £8 handling charge)

The unit itself is solid, with a decent length of cable which is certainly a plus over my standard OBD reader that only has a short lead.

I'll connect it up this evening and report back, initial SW screenshots look great, it's already had one update so far, hopefully they'll keep coming:

Looks really interesting Dan.

Is this purely for the post 2006 models?

In theory yes - but I imagine it would be compatible with the older modules that exist in the later cars.

I will test this ASAP.

Perfect. Thanks.

I did an OBD reader from what i thought was a UK company but after 6 weeks the device arrived and was faulty. Most un-impressed.

Very interested to see the outcome of this.

Right, hooked it up and had a good play with it.

Very pleased with it so far. It diagnosed the specific parking sensor that's been playing up where as Navcoder was a bit unclear on this:

Also picked up a few under voltage errors across the ECU's which I'd suspected:

Another nice feature is the BCM programming, only alarm/lock/unlock options so far:

I've turned on chirp on lock to irritate the neighbors for a while Laughing

Do you know if this is locked to a vin number like the faultmate or could I use it on several rangerovers?

The 2006 still has BMW modules - I will test to see whether there is any hope for the 2006+ cars and report back My initial thoughts are that for a TD6 there would be very little change...
