i experienced a 'dim' screen in my TD6 due to a low battery voltage ..i would start by checking that first just to eliminate it. ... - .- -.

Also check all your connections in the boot - left hand side as you look in - all the electronics are in there & sometimes it's just a poor connection.

Yes thanks , I have had a new battery for a few months now, have removed and replaced most of the plugs in the rear , I do think it may be something simple in the end , but it’s finding it lol .

The gap tool I thought should be able to reset or reboot , but I can’t work that on out.

If the MOST bus is optical, check that you have a red light coming out of the end as it should be a complete circuit. You would need to unplug each optical lead in turn, if you find no light then there is a failure on one of the components or lead. Go back to where you last saw the light and bypass the fault using the biro truck (plenty written about that on the forum) and see if the light now reaches the next connector 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Hi, I never did find out the problem as soon after the screen went blank The car suffered a
Major electrical breakdown , basically everything in the rear left hand compartment stopped
Working followed by both front air bags splitting. So the car was sold to someone braver than
Me to sort out. Good luck Thumbs Up 2004 vogue

Just had a thought , if the units or unit controlling the monitor on the dash has not shut down properly when I removed the battery negative , would there be a reset button on either the monitor or unit in the boot to reboot the system.

Also just had a thought, might be nothing though. I remember watching a Wheeler Dealers episode where they had an early L322 that had the same issue as yours, Edd replaced the sat nav unit and all started working again. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Had a dig around the web for you and others seem to mention the silver entertainment unit in the boot. Corrosion can occur on the blue connector. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Would that be the silver unit or DVD player?
I’ve just unplugged the DVD unit , still have a backlight in the monitor but still no screen

DVD player? Not as standard fit there isn’t. If the sat Nav has been upgraded to the mk4 unit by a previous owner, it will have a DVD logo on the front.... the units can daisy chain, so you should be able to take a unit out the loop....
