Roof Rails with Pan Roof

Hi all

Thinking about adding roof rails to a 2016 S/C AB with opening pan roof but searching for the none genuine ones brings up a comment that they dont fit with a pan roof, anyone know why please?

Thanks

Carl

AFAIK you can fit genuine rails with a pano roof - its a one way thing though - the rails are a permanent fitment.

I think it's the only approved way to use bars.

Possible that after market ones encroach onto the roof or are in some other way not certified / approved

Hi Carlos. I was lucky enough to get hold of a black set and a Silver set of roof rails for a 66 plate 405 with sliding roof. I fitted the black pair in the end and both were none genuine. They fitted easily and it was just a case of marking the ditch rails once removed and carefully using a step drill. I think as Alister is correct that they won't have JLR approval but they seemed to work very well and took all the weight I loaded on them with no problems. Thumbs Up

I have a set of non-LR roof bars on mine and they have plenty of clearance for the pano roof to open fully.

There is a post somewhere on this forum with photos of my install FYI Current

Yes'plenty of clearance on fixed pan and sliding. If anyone wants a pair Ihave a silver pair spare that are brand new in the box with fixing kit. The black pair I fitted to mine and the silver pair are not jlr but I cant say ihave had any trouble with mine.
