I have been quoted £37 for a cabin filter at LR, the basic one, no charcoal or anything.

So far, no smell got through - and I live in a busy city... Tried driving with windows open and it was unbearable... |

Funnily enough, I was looking at these last night. I was wondering how much better the antibacterial one is compared to the carbon or whether it's just marketing hype.

Pretty sure there is a noticeable difference as it vastly reduces the terrible fumes from the heater that seep into earlier cars. I've just ordered another. |

I tested yesterday with the window open and closed - clearly there is a huge difference. I am positive there were fumes entering the car with the original filter. Now there is no smell at all... And hey, it's cheaper than the JLR one! Less than 1/2 price! |

Just the one for the cabin filter. Two for the engine air filter. Kev

So based on adara's recommendation, I also purchased the Mahle LAO 490 filter (£17.60). Out of curiosity, I also purchased the Mann equivalent filter, Mann FP 1919 (£15.10), which, just like the Mahle is antibacterial etc. Both purchased from Autodoc.
