Sudden brake fluid loss.

Hi
Today i had sudden brake fluid loss and brake pedal was on the floor.
I added fluid but it was gone again.
I had big oil dirt on left front hose suspected that was the reason but after cleaning and testing there were no fluid there.
Any ideas?

Favourite place to leak are the rigid brake pipes running front to back in way of the left hand sill of the vehicle. May have to remove the plastic sill cover to see properly. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

And have a check on the steel pipes that run down the rear wishbones... BIG failure point!

I saw some dirt there too.
What i dont get is how front left had so much dirt. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

It is shocking isn't it.

If you remove the plastic covers above the sidestep brackets you will probably find more horrors...

The plastic coating on the pipes degrades and lets in water, holding it there to help the pipes rust to nothing. I thought I just had surface rust, until removal, and the pipes just fell to pieces in my hands....

Make sure to replace with copper nickel / Cunifer... .

Yup sad but true.
I replaced all my hard lines earlier in the year, the originals were totally corroded away to powder. L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue. 07MY

Did mine about 2 years ago as all the pipes were shot. Then after had a new rear hose metal coupling fail and was lucky to get to the garage to get it repaired !

Exactly shocking.
Bent sections are more prone to dusting i guess.
While bending there may be micro scratches inside and outside.
Direct lines won't suffer rusting as these parts. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.
