The shock has either a badly leaking seal or the reservoir attached near the bottom has come adrift. Either way its a mechanical failure so no real need to replace both sides although you may find a new one firmer than the other side so end-up replacing both.

As said above its really quite straight forward sir... That all said, i think its worth checking with your warranty co as its a mechanical failure rather than wear & tear... And they are VERY expensive shockers!

If its a used car JLR Warranty then its probably only covered under MOT insurance [if its included] so I'd get it into them and have them fail it as part of the MOT and then it will get done under the warranty. all smug in my new plug!

Any chance you can share how to change the rear shocks on the L405? How to remove the rear seats etc. Would be useful. I'm about to take mine off and it would be good to know how you remove them from the car (the bottom is straght forward) but how do you access the top mounting bolts? Do you have any drawings at all that you could maybe share? Many thanks |
