Hi All,

Been looking at insurance cover for my next purchase , reading the small print of the numerous insurance companies. I have discovered that they all don't cover the glass panoramic sunroof in their policy? (Even upon checking my wife's insurance policy, her evoque's glass roof is not covered! )

I have raised this with two potential insurance companies to see what is the cost to cover this aspect?

I guess to replace these units would be quite a few thousand pounds.....

Does any one else have this cover included within their policies or do you have an external policy to cover this aspect?

Excluded entirely - or not covered under their windscreen/glass policy ?

I can understand the latter - It has to be a proper claim and not just the glass excess and doesn’t count as a claim.

Initially I thought it was only windscreen cover - I only discovered it covered all glass after I had a car broken into and Autoglass told me that the side window would e covered

The RR windscreen would be expensive enough, but the pano roof is presumably outside the scope of what Autoglass would do anyway ?

yes understand Alistair, and I agree that the roof would certainly be a specialist repair centre job for sure.

My policy with LV= includes cover for the pano roof under the glass section. No loss of NCB, but the glass replacement excess is high, IIRC £190. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography
