England 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV6 Indus Silver
Renewing/Extending LR Warranty

Purchased an approved used L405 Vogue SE in November last year, the LR Warranty is about to expire. I've had a renewal quotation for the Select Extended Warranty for £867, or the Extended warranty for £1,467. LR Assist is about £150 on top of each.

The Select Warranty has certain limitations as to what can be replaced under said warranty and has a £3k claim limit.

Asking for advice if anyone has had experience with either warranty, are they worth it, and is there an alternative.

It seems a large sum to me and under normal circumstances i wouldn't bother, or shop the market for another warranty, but in the last year it seems to have been in the dealership more than it has been on my drive for warranty work, one hefty bit was replacing the transfer box and drive shaft, about £3.5k worth 'apparently'.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would not ever run a Range Rover outside of the LR warranty..

IMHO a warranty with a £3,000 limit per claim is not worth having, especially at that price. For me the main purpose would be to guard against the catastrophic failure, e.g. new engine required, and that would be way over the £3,000. The other one might be worth it for peace of mind, depending on the detailed terms as to what is covered, limits etc, especially in the context of a 2013 TDV6.

As others have posted on here, the warranty providers aim to make a profit, so the average cost is likely to be below the cost of the warranty, but you'd need to be able to replace the car if you had no warranty and the worst came to the worst. So the cost of replacement as against the warranty cost is a factor too. Only Range Rovers since 1988

i paid £165'ish a month for 10 months for a full LR warranty with assist which included euro cover..

although LR are a bit picky on intermittent faults ,the proper broken stuff gets done straight away with no quibbles.. ... - .- -.
