Hi All, I recently bought a trailer tent and interestingly my Rangie doesn’t show the trailer attached light on the dash - like it has when towing trailers in the past. It wouldn’t be an issue but is rather annoying when the parking sensors activate Constantly when trying to Reverse the trailer in to a spot! Anyone know how I can sort it? Are the lights on said new trailer tent LED? The car may not see the LED's? Do the lights work when its plugged in? Including turn signals?

Hi Craig, everything works perfectly except the car sensing there is a trailer attached. The trailer tent is brand new and yes all lights are LED.

Does the car have a dedicated wiring kit or is it a universal wiring kit? If the latter then it won’t recognise the trailer.

If it’s the former then it should see the trailer, does the little green trailer flash when you indicate?

I’ve had a dedicated kit fitted to my 16my the trailer light flashes but the suspension isn’t disabled and the parking sensors still activate. It will need coding into the CCF for that to happen. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The car has the factory fit folding tow bar. No trailer pic flashes with indicators. Must be something to do with LED lights as I’ve hired older trailers and the trailer pic comes up straight away when attached. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Jase, that’ll be your issue then sir... Your FF won’t see a trailer with pure LEDs! I.E. without any load resistance! Certain trailer lights come can bus friendly! Others do not! I believe it’s just your brake lamp circuit of the trailer the car looks for! So try an incandescent bulb in that circuit first to prove the theory sir 👍

Yes as Craig said if you have the factory kit then it will be down to the LED lights.

I did think that a solution had been found to this, with the caravan and trailer manufacturers. It maybe that there is a ballast solution to add to the tent. I would be talking to your tent manufacturer to see if they have a solution. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Looking on google I think there is a piece of kit that goes on the trailer by a company called ‘Sargent’..must be a resistive device to take more load. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel
