I live on a main-ish A road and occasionally when I leave I have to accelerate harder than I'd like with a cold engine/box.
On occasion I'll get a bong but no error or warning to indicate what the problem is. It'll continue to drive fine after this event (barring a puff or two of smoke).

Is this normal behaviour?

My 2003 TD6 does similar but I've presumed its because its at the lowest setting on the suspension which has a 25mph max speed and it takes a min before it triggers the pump to raise up to normal height???? 2004 Vogue SE TD6
(Also a LR 90 V8 & RRS, just because)

I notice the same sometimes, also when i need to push it hard it has one gear shift problem from 1-2, second attempt is fine then. Definitly no bong because of suspension, only accoustic allert no message, no failure in ecu! It‘s mysterious!

i believe that there are gear restrictions until the engine and gearbox is warmed up and the oil is flowing..

this could account for the 'bong' on a hard acceleration when cold. ... - .- -.
