We have been to a number of countries not covered by our standard insurance. In all cases we were able to get a Green card for insurance but, it only covered you third party, no comprehensive available. I would expect the insurance you buy at the border is not worth the paper it's written on. Hence we always got a Green card issued from the UK insurers.

All you can do is ask your insurance company - they are all different in terms of which countries are covered, third party or fully comp (may be an additional charge) and for how long - some are 30 days, others 90 etc. |
