It this theory valid that a clogged dpf can cause engine to heat and thus head gasket can get damaged?

I'd have thought the hose cracks and leaks which cause 90% of RP faults on the TDV8 and SDV8 would've been sorted by your 2015 model.

However, err 90% of RP faults on the TDV8 and SDV8 are down to hose cracks and leaks in the high pressure (i.e. post-turbo(s) air system.

Mine had a fault code citing turbo actuator. but guess what? Air pipe leak.

I would agree not to drive.

. Cheers, Greg

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Indus Silver

Evening all. Unfortunately, I also got the Restricted Performance message appear on the dash earlier today with the accompanying drop off in power as I accelerated on to a dual carriageway. Car is a 2013 SDV8 and I’ve only had it a couple of weeks. Big Cry I had to drive a few miles in this limp mode but pulled over to turn off and restart and got exactly the same as previous sufferers - the engine took a few seconds to turn off. Left it for about a minute and when I fired it back up the message had cleared and it was fine thereafter. I thought it was a bit coincidental that the car had been in to have it’s AC condenser replaced yesterday so I phoned the chap who completed the work on behalf of the dealer I bought the car from - he’s ex LR roadside customer support - and he said that he did disturb some pipes/hoses but all seemed fine. I’ll get this looked at next week but it’s not great having this in the back of your mind when you’re staycationing and taking the family on lots of day trips.

Update on the repair. Picked the car up from my local indy workshop last Friday. The fault was traced to a boost pressure sensor which had come off a turbo hose. All replaced and fingers crossed that’s the end of it. Very happy with the service I received from AJR Land Rover in Oldham. Thumbs Up
