Hi Guys

looking at buying a 2013 Autobiography 5l supercharged with 200000kms on the clock

Problem is the supercharger and engine is noisy - water and white smoke comes out of both exhausts

its at an auction and cannot be viewd, only photos

I know there could be many possibilities

are there any likely scenarios

Have you heard a 5.0 supercharged that is in good health to compare to? These direct injection engines do make a bit of noise especially when cold - a bit like a diesel but as mentioned on your other thread there's a good likelihood it needs the belt chains/tensioners replaced. The white smoke could be a number of things ranging from very serious to quite minor so you're taking a huge gamble if you can't get the car inspected before buying it. This sounds like a car to walk away from and it's probably being sold because of the cost of repairs.

no ive never heard another sc 5.0, i think your right - big gamble, it would have to be at the right price and take into account a big repair bill.

If you’ve never heard another SC running then I think your taking a massive risk/gamble sir!

I would think you’d at least have a load of experience to warrant taking such a risk sir... Just my 2 penneth worth!
