It’s a matter of preference.

I’ve tried 20’s, 21’s & 22’s and prefer 22’s for my style of driving and the roads I drive. I’m mostly motorways and a roads, but also venture up into the mountains.

20’s are more comfortable on bumpy stuff but a bit more flexible on roundabouts etc. I get why people prefer them, but I don’t.

21’s, as you’d expect are a compromise between the two.

There is a style of 19’s that will fit the L405 if you must.....

IMO yes, notably more comfortable and quieter. Far less prone to kerb damage as well.

19”s would be my choice, but they’ll only fit over the smaller front brakes on the V6 diesel.

I am not sure if I am talking myself out of it? My D4 came with 20”s and I replaced them with 19”s and to be honest never felt any issues with the way it drove?

I think maybe it’s just vanity that I prefer a larger alloy

Run it in the 20”.

They are the “big” wheels on the 322......

21’s are fine, I run them on my 405 but tbh I wouldn’t get too hung up on swapping them right away, see how you get on with the 20” and then make the choice.

If they refinish the ones on the car in grey it will look good, and you can keep an eye out for a set and snaffle a bargain if you see one!  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If the wheels and tyres are good. Then keep them on. Go shopping at your leisure, and get in contact with Duckworthparts (robin at Duckworth market Rasen) site sponsor, who often have almost new take offs for sale. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Mine came with 21” rims and I put the 20’s on as a suck-it-and-see exercise. That was 45,000 miles ago and there’s nothing that would make me change back!

The ride is greatly improved, pot holes and kerbs become largely irrelevant, tramlining (especially in motorway lorry ruts) completely disappears and it’s much easier to keep up higher average speeds on Cornish lanes and B roads when you can pick your line, irrespective of road surface. The wheel and tyre combination is also 10% lighter - unsprung weight being the enemy of good handling, also adding to the wear and tear on suspension components.

Larger rims can look good, but also look out of place on a Land Rover product.

I have been convinced by the common sense comments to leave the 20”s on....I much prefer a comfortable ride at my age

County LR in Barnstaple for regular service work and Moore’s of St Wenn (Specialist) for anything incidental like fitting brakes.

I have had our D4 serviced at BM Motors in Saltash. They are not LR specialists but I know the owner and his chief mechanic and they both know LR & RR very well.

I am unsure at present where I will have our FFRR done though as I don’t want to invalidate the 1 year warranty via Roger Young. I know having read your comments you haven’t been overly impressed with them, so if I can I would rather use an Indy such as Mark Kelly in Tavistock.

You must be impressed with County LR given it’s quite a drive up to Barnstaple. Why choose them for service work and not Moores? I am trying to get as much info as I can before I take mine anywhere.

Check the service history online using the VIN on the LR site.

If it’s due then get the dealer to service it. Then it probably won’t need another until getting on for the expiry of the warranty in any case.

AFAIK you can’t invalidate an approved used warranty by using a Indy, so long as they follow the correct service schedule and use genuine LR parts and in spec oils. Check with the Indy if they can update the LR online service log as many now can. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It’s just had its equivalent 60 month/ 80k service at Roger Young MD, I am looking ahead really should I need stuff doing to it that may not be under warranty.

I like to have a plan ready just in case...
