Is it just the motor then? Not the whole Transfer box?

Who has diagnosed this? What are the symptoms etc?

its been a long drawn out story, had replacement gearbox, didnt work corrcetly, but repaired under warranty, speed sensor issue, then told there were a number of faults including wiring from gearbox to ecu possibly corroded then the transfer box neutral warning coming on and the box not changing up and down correctly then the transfail safe prog warning coming on. The dealer who supplied the box, said the transferbox motor was faulty as well as the wiring and this was affecting the performance of the gearbox wheras the guys who fitted it have checked wiring and say its fine and then swapped the transferbox from another car to mine and drove it without fault for half an hour theyre recommending a replacement transferbox from landrover , normally the faults appear within about 5-7 mins of driving, so just trying to understand the options before I shell out the money. Confused

They definatelu said the transfer box motor? Not the Module.

The Motor is the bit that changes from Hi to Lo. These can seize if Hi/Lo isn't used every once in a while. The Module on the other hand can crap out whenever it feels like it. Are they trying to get you to buy a whole new transfer box?

How much are they quoting?

That sounds crazy for the module!

Might be worth dropping RRPhil an e-mail on RangeRovers.net.
