Oh dear, there’ll be a whole new wave of people googling about manifolds to get stressed about now! |

Yes. Apparently mine was in the ‘affected VIN range’! Ignorance was bliss |

L405 reminds me in some respects of the P38 'Metrocab' I owned. Electronically and in theory very clever, however in practice not entirely satisfactory and laden with issues. The only saving grace of my current L405 over my previous TD6 L322 is the sheer grunt and power of the twin turbo V8. I owned my previous TD6 from new and had absolutely no problems whatsoever in 14 years of ownership. In my opinion and in order of satisfaction worst to best is P38, 2 & 4 door door V8, L405 V8, 3.5 EFi, 3.9 EFI, L322 TD6. I've also owned Porsche motors continuously over the last 40 + years and you just don't get these questions to answer. None the less, JLR seem to have a niche market. It just needs to get things right. |

That problem happened to me three times, It finally enacted a LR TSB with revised components. |
