Thank you Stan. Gonna try that when Mrs 160 gets home with the car!

I keep mine in a tight fitting biscuit tin and I tried it within a foot of the car door and it will not open the locks.

Kitchen foil also works, but it's no where near as handy as having it in a open/close faraday bag. I only keep my spare key wrapped in foil since I never us it so the inconvenience is trivial. |

I bought Faraday bags off ebay (one for each the keys I have) around 20 months ago for @£5.50 each and they work fine. I also can put it in the bag, put it right next to the door handle and cannot open the door, so they obviously block the signal pretty well. The only thing I would say is that if you have your key fob on a ring with a bunch of keys, it might be a tight squeeze getting it into some of the bags and closing it as the ones I have seen are relatively compact - I keep mine separate so not an issue for me. Got given a wee Faraday bag FOC by a locksmith who was admiring our RR yesterday. Was surprised by the simplicity of it and that it worked but it does. Put the keys in the bag and then approached the car and the doors won’t open. Press key fob buttons whilst the fobs are in the bag and even standing right next to the car, nothing worked when pushing the buttons. |

I think they do work, once in the bag I cannot open the doors nor start the engine if the key is in the bag. That said I also have a telescopic security post on my drive as an extra deterrent and two 4 legged friends with good hearing for anyone snooping around. |

surely the whole point of keyless entry is that you have the key in your pocket/hand bag/man bag/under your flat cap if you're 'up north', and you walk up to your FF and the door is open..

If I’m not mistaken Stan, and I maybe, the thieves can still open you car even if keyless entry is disabled if they can can receive your key signal, hence whether it’s on or off I’d still use a faraday bag.

If the system is disabled then the "usual" method of scanning around your perimeter for a signal no longer works...

I’ve always used the double press deadlock facility.
