Thanks for the suggestion but, yes, adaptions were reset after new solenoids fitted and again after refurb valve body fitted. 2008 TDV8 Vogue

So both gearbox and engine adaptations have been reset? They are separate.

Well, I must admit I hadn't previously heard of engine adaptions so no, I haven't done those. How might they affect the gearbox?

Latest situation is that I had a long chat with Pete at Valve Bodies and he's sent me another body to try (body only - no ecu). Hope to get it fitted on Wednesday. 2008 TDV8 Vogue

I'm not sure about the exact interaction between the systems, but from what I can see the engine adaptations affect the way the engine behaves when the gearbox makes gearchanges. Torque is reduced for a short time to allow the box to make changes smoothly.

On my S/C before engine adaptations were reset the downchanges could be very harsh indeed at high throttle openings. After the reset the changes became smooth and slurred as they should be.

Two issues:

No. 1 - Poor 3 to 4 shift

In auto mode when changing from 3rd to 4th there is no distinct change. During all other upshifts you can see the tacho needle drop quickly from a higher value to a lower one - nicely smoothed out by the TC. When shifting from 3 to 4 however the needle hovers at much the same revs as 3rd for a couple of seconds and then drops. I'm not absolutely sure if it's then in 4th or has gone to 5th. Pity the dash display doesn't give an indication on auto mode................................................

Did you have chance to fix it finally?

No, for some reason the site stopped sending me notifications of updates and I missed some input from RRPhil. By the time I responded I think it'd slipped off his radar and I don't think anyone else here has the depth of knowledge needed to make further progress.

I take it you have a similar issue? 2008 TDV8 Vogue
