Do you have to buy a new car every year so people know you're not driving a used car because you can't afford a new one? Wink

A more serious question, do you leave the standard plate on or do you have your own?

I'd buy a new car on cash if I could afford one.

No, not at the moment. I cannot afford it. But it is on the list. It should not be more than 2 digit long Very Happy

Don't you find it nice if a new car has been customised and has badged of the person who did the art work? If it were me, I'd have gold engraved Range Rover Very Happy

Oh dear, can't be good for the ego with the neighbours knowing you can't afford a newer car.... Wink Very Happy

No, OEM is the only way for me, so that rules out customisation and gold badges! MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

No... not bothered about neighbours. But I'd love people taking pictures with my pride and joy. And if it can make Russian or Arab heads turn, that would do me. Very Happy

I mean for going from A to B there are far better cars unreliable and expensive Range Rover.

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

I’m a bit of a show off myself but when somebody said that I should remove the diesel badge from my macan s I thought that seemed a bit daft.
I don’t know why but I don’t see the Range Rover as such a show off car, I have a Porsche Boxster gts in guards red and that gets loads of attention. The new price of that one would be about 65 percent of the Range Rover. Its surprising how many rrs you see around the lanes nowadays yet they just don’t turn heads yet many are worth over 100k.
That’s used Ferrari money, get into an old Ferrari, Porsche or Aston all at under Lr money and you can show off all day long. No need to tinker with the badges or number plates.

We had a Boxster in Guards Red for close to 5 years and they do generate a lot of attention, mostly fairy positive actually which was a surprise. Agree that the perceived value is much higher, colleagues would talk about it in a way you'd think it was a £100k car.

People would mistake my 7 for a 5 series and those that knew that it was would be really surprised I had it debadged, but I like the Q Car look and buy cars for me, I really don't give a monkeys what other people think (good or bad) about my choice. However, sometimes it's good to play things down a bit, which is why I'll use my wife's Golf R a fair bit for work. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I am not a fan of any sports cars. They are impractical, uncomfortable and break when one sneezes. I'd want a Rolls Royce instead and I tend to stick to British whatever is left of it. Having said that, I do not have funds for any of it. Need a win before I get too old. I also want a private jet. Very Happy

United States 2016 Range Rover HSE 3.0 SC V6 Fuji White

I've removed the rear badges (HSE and the LR oval) from both of my L405's. Although we don't get the Vogue badge on this side of the pond, I would have removed it anyway. It's just my preference because I think it's a cleaner look being that the vehicle already has RANGE ROVER spelled out across the front and the rear. Ray

Craig, I agree...being different is the key. That's part of the reason why I removed the rear badges. It's rare to see an L405 without any rear badges at all here in the US. Ray
