Front suspension question

Hi
My suspension bags were changed.
All fine accept left one makes a big clunk and shake after lifting the car.
After you move the jack while lowering to normal ride height it makes a big clunk and then goes to normal height.
I lift the car after raising to off-road height.
I experienced rear ones doing this but front is first time to me. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

If the suspension control arms were removed, or their respective bushes unbolted / loosened from the subframe, and then not torqued back down properly and in the correct rotational position on reassembly , I imagine that the bush inner tube/sleeve could be "letting go " under load and rotating inside the subframe mounting point, in essence the entire bush is rotating around the bolt holding it in place..??

I think u cannot connect wrong because there is a pivot point.
It was screwed fine I watched it.
Something is dragging inside when wheel is free and suspension is fully open.
There is only a strut and some plates inside. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

You can connect wrong..

1. If the unit is not torqued correctly then the entire bush including its inner sleeve will rotate on the pivot.
2. If the unit is torqued with the suspension in the incorrect setting, such as extended, then you will load the bush in normal height. maybe damaging the bush.

Now I'm not saying this is the case with yours, but maybe..

Please also check that your swaybar clears everything,

A Trap 2010 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Atacama Sand

Hi again
Last week we had the compressor hot warning then it went on safe mode.
Later car started loosing pressure over night.
Today I went to shop they sprayed said all ok.
But luckily I went to shopping mall and passed bumps a little fast and heard hissing from left side.
That side is which makes the clunk after lifted.
If driven a little hard over bumps it gives air 5 to 10 seconds.
Anyone experienced this? 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

The compressor getting hot and cutting out means you probably have an air leak. From what you describe I think it may be the front left strutt. It is probably not leaking normally only when you go over a bump or when in extended mode.
I would be inclined to raise the car to maximum height and then listen for an air leak or spray it with soapy water.
Out of curiosity how many kilometres has you car done.

Mine had that sort of behaviour, the airbag had cracked where it folds and flexes, it only leaked in certain positions. The downside was I was travelling back from Northern Ireland so I kept resetting the suspension error to get me home. If I drove above 50 mph it was fine, no issues (does the suspension lower at higher speeds?), if I slowed down the compressor would start to work overtime. I replaced the bags and the compressor and it was fine, great system IMHO. BMW i3 Electric Car

Yes definitely from left one. It was making noise when lifted after bag change.
Car is 165k km now.
After change of struts about 150km done.
We sprayed soap when car was on lift and suspension was fully extended.
We did not see any bubbles. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

U can have this problem it is normal.
My problem is with newly repaired bags.
What could cause the new bag leak after a bump for 10 seconds.
I hope this did not ruin the compressor. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.
