Agreed, get it serviced by someone who knows these gearboxes... Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

In your instance I would suggest a 'megaflush' where 99% of the oil is flushed out & replaced rather than a 'oil & filter' change which only gets 40%-60% of the fluid out.

Nothing has the same specification of the ZF oil no matter what it says on the bottle, the oil will be to the same spec but it will not have the friction modifiers that the ZF oil has..! Have a read on the ZF website and give ZF customer support a call. The ZF process is to drain, replace the sump/filter with a new one and fill with ZF oil they do not recommend a megaflush. After all would you change engine oil and leave the dirty filter? Bear in mind the age of your filter... I know there are fans of the the megaflush on here but best to do your research. |
