Hi Stan,

Was booked for a road trip down to Monaco for The Monaco Grand Prix Historique. Was looking forward to it sooooo much but obviously it was all cancelled.

All the hotels were booked going down and return and was staying in the Fairmont Hotel while in Monaco ( the Hotel on the hard left hander in the race) Sad Sad

Luckily, no money has been lost as the company I booked with have honoured prices for next year at this years prices.

I’m really looking forward to driving on the Route De Napoleon which I understand is a great driving Road.

I drive to Gdansk, Poland, twice a year and this year we had to cancel our Easter trip. In late 2019 we booked the ferry for July 2020, as we do every year, so I'm very nervous about the governments announcements this coming week as to which countries we will be able to travel to and from.

I really miss this drive, in the RR it is so easy and so much fun, about 13 hours plus stops and traffic from Europort.

Yes, Grenoble to Cannes

It was the route taken by Napoleon on his return from Elba.

Obviously its not the quickest route to take Laughing but it reports to be very scenic with statues of the French Imperial Eagle marking the route along the way.

Thumbs Up

I cut short the winter season & am starting the summer late - but haven't minded at all.

No commuting to work & great weather have been a bonus & I've completed loads of jobs around the house.

I'm heading south on Friday - I booked the tunnel a month ago as my best estimate & have decided to stick with it & not shift to Monday which looks like the official grand opening.

Even this summer is looking like it will be good from a commuting perspective - unlikely that I'll have to be in the office until at least autumn and maybe not even this year, so no flying backwards & forwards every week Very Happy

Yes, we drove that road in 2016 when we did a Monaco trip/visit the road itself was fantastic (from a driving perspective) and my wife assured me the views were not to shabby either lol!

Is the classic on every year? I thought it was every 3 or 4yrs or have they simply postponed 2020 to 2021?

I'm always nervous about taking a RR abroad, although I've had three and they never let me down on long trips in the UK. I think its because I read this forum and all I ever pick up is negative vibes Very Happy Geoff

I must admit that even though I enjoy the long journey's there is a huge feeling of relief when I arrive at my destination without incident. I also wouldn't do these journeys without comprehensive breakdown cover.

IMHO if you have an FF you just need to be pragmatic. If it’s going to happen it will, then just deal with it. Otherwise it would sit outside and never move. John

Hi Craig,

It was supposed to be this year and yes you are right I believe they only race the Historique every 3 to 4 years but as this year had to be cancelled they are going to run it next year Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 19MY SVA-Dynamic Spectral Chromoflair Blue but colour not available in profile

Last year was the first in 30 years of F.F. ownership to not include at least one long euro land holiday trip.
The trouble is now my wife thinks aeroplanes are a better option, particularly for getting down to the Algarve region we like to visit.
I am now trying to convince her that going in the car is much safer COVID wise.... we will have to make a decision soon because we had already pre- booked the villa we have rented for 4 weeks in Sept/October.

Or just check the price of an air ticket.

A friend was being asked over £300 to get to Alicante. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

Bill,
I don’t think ticket price will win her over.. Rolling with laughter
I like to book 3 or 4 nights in Paradors or Pousadas on the route, visiting different locations whenever possible.
Their Golden Age (60+) packages are good value, but don’t come cheap.
