Deployable Towbar Module

I've got a query regarding the deployable towbar module on my FF, and hopefully you guys will be able to assist:

I believe that my control module is faulty, as it emits the warning tone to suggest that the towbar is not fully deployed/stowed, even though it is fully stowed. Now, I believe that there was a recall for this a few years back however i'm unsure if mine ever had the recall work carried out.

The module which I currently have installed has the part number: CPLA 19H397-AG

My question is this: should i replace my module with an identical one, or should i replace it with the module which has the part number CPLA 19H397-AF

I'm wondering if the module with the AF part number was the one installed as part of the recall? Or perhaps as G follows F alphabetically, then I may already have the newer version of the control module, and mine is just a faulty one Confused

If anyone could shed some light it would be appreciated, I don't want to replace the control module with one which is liable to go wrong in the future!

Thanks

For reference this is the control module installed in my car.

AG is the latest one - the ones with issues are AE and some of AF (module serial numbers between #26747 to #48666) so you have the latest module

You may just need to reinitialise the module if the towball is moving but not locking.

Start engine and run for longer than 2 seconds. Stop engine. Switch ignition to ON. Switch ignition to OFF
Press the 'Activate' button (the left side switch on the deployable towbar switchpack) for 2 seconds until the green LED illuminates on the 'Deploy/Stow' button
Press 'deploy/stow' button and hold until towbar reaches its fully deployed position. During deployment the buzzer will pulse as a warning. During deployment the green indicator will flash as a warning. At the end of deployment the towbar will give a beep/beep sound
Release the 'Deploy/Stow' button

There is quite a detailed troubleshooting guide in the Workshop manual (in the wiki) for the towbar including reference to what the various beeps and flashing LEDS on the switchpack mean. Current Fleet:-
