DPF Regeneration Frequency.

I seem to have worked out that B.B. my 4.4 tdV8 does a regen approx. every tankful.
This week I have updated the software on my iid and guess what....it agrees.

75,800 miles and 176 successfully completed regens equals one per 430 miles. Q.E.D. Rolling with laughter

You’ve now got me wanting to go out and plug mine in Whistle Rolling with laughter
Is that your standard suite of readings for DPF monitoring? I note there are more exhaust temps you can view. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Rob,
I was just playing, to see what new features I had gained by upgrading my 4+ year old iid.
I knew that oil fuel contamination was a new feature, but also gained DPF history , otherwise not spotted any other new readings yet. I am not sure about soot in oil ? , but because I have just changed oil and filter will watch it closely.
I normally used to monitor exhaust bank 1 sensor 2 temperature readings because I have found they get the biggest change ( up to 620c+ during an Active regen).
I will eventually settle for a standard set of readings, but always open to new ideas from members.

Cheers Mike. Must update mine. I looked last night and with ignition on only the Number of successful regens and partial regen fields said "N/A". I'm sure I've seen them before but maybe only when engine is running.
I might update my IID anyway. I recall it being quite an easy thing to do.

Mileage: 100158; Number of successful regenerations: 185

So, one regen every 541 miles (I do mainly A/M roads and very few short journeys historically). I usually get ~520 miles to a full tank if I'm doing my usual 66miles round daily commute on the A/M roads.

Side note: Number of demanded regenerations = 647. What's yours Mike?

Engine needs to be running for "Number of successful regens" to show on IID. Won't show with ignition on only. Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I will check number of demanded regens next time Rob and update you.
Your figures look good.
Oil contamination limit is 7, but I guess we will both be changing it well before that.

I changed my oil in Jan and it's due mid July. Hardly done any miles from mid March to date. So the 0.8 dilution is for Jan to mid March. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Rob,
I only changed the oil and filter last week, so will monitor it when I get back to normal use, but really keen to see a figure per 1,000 miles , then I will know typical 6months figure.
Mike.

PS,
My son has got a 3ltr disco 5, but because it is a company vehicle he only gets it changed when it alarms.
He got to 15,000 miles last year before it told him service was due. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

I’ll check via IID but I think it’s a shade over 2000 miles since oil change which would be about right with my man maths. Roughly 0.4-0.5 for every 1000 miles Whistle
Say halfway at 0.45. Multiplying by 15 = 6.7. Close to the max of 7. Based on a oil service max of 15000 miles Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
