TeeMyob - Do you have the GAP IID Diagnostics tool? This is what is being referred to with regards to reading the live data, this can include a number of factors depending on what you select. During the DPF regeneration, some diesel will mix with the oil causing the dilution shown. The limit of this dilution is 7, after which an oil change is required, failure to change the oil at this point will stop the DPF regeneration from taking place from what I understand. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

It is an expensive outlay to begin with but pays for itself pretty quickly once you use it. Costs of diagnostics at Land Rover are ridiculous for what is in effect a few minutes work. Benefit of the IID is that it is small enough to carry around should you need to. I already had a Hawkeye Total which I use on my Freelander 2 but it soon became apparent that the IID tool was the way to go. My Hawkeye can do as much as the IID minus the CCF configuration but it's rather bulky in comparison and the lead into the ODB port gets in the way of your foot if you are driving. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

+1 I'd go for the IID every time, didn't know about it until I joined the forum. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Mike/ Greg
So... yesterday plugged iid in and it’s reading 18.1g, had to go to the shops, only about 12 miles.
Didn’t go above 30 - 40 mph, went up to 18.8g and then started to come down, temperature did not get above 300’, by the time I got to the shop we were down to 12.9g😃
Well chuffed, it seems to be managing itself now.
Big relief for me

Great news Thumbs Up

You may be monitoring the wrong temp, there are three IIRC.

It did a partial regeneration down to 12g, a full one - motorway, cruise control, no traffic, 50mph, more than 1/4 fuel - should take it down to around 5g

There are 'steps' in the process, in the 300°+ range, 400°+ range 500°+ range, and 600° range

It probably stopped process because of your short trip. But proved it did something as it should. Thumbs Up

. Cheers, Greg
