Restricted Performance L322 2011 4.4

Morning guys

Day 21 of RR ownership

Went from York to South Shields yesterday and on the way there got restricted performance (after 30 mins of cruise control 70mph)

I have a “start engine low battery” after maybe 30 secs of ign on since I bought it
Health check from an Indy garage last week.

Had look through forum and can see the cSOV actuator is a close symptom match
it has some new manifold hoses, and I had a look at top inter cooler hose

Gapid tool on order....

Oh, after beach it was fine and has been ever since !!

Can I dribble WD40 onto the cSOV valve ?

Thanks

IC

yes you can douse the CSOV Ian.
You can also give give it a turn back & forth by hand.
and you can also get a vacuum test hand tool and test it's vacuum operation.

But the first two are fine.

95% or restricted issues on the 4.4TDV8 are down to air system leaks.

search 'restricted 4.4TDV8' - plenty have had these issues and solved them.

. Cheers, Greg

I called out LR Assist the first time mine through up R.P. alarm and he diagnosed it from the fault code.
His first attempt was to give it a good squirt of WD 40 to free it, but it failed again as soon as I got to 2500rpm, so he booked it in at the MD and they changed it for the later “no nut “ modified type.

That actuator rod, can it be manually moved & at the same time a dollop of WD40?
Mines going in Tuesday as RP flagged up twice now when reaching 3000rpm, Indy read the code which pointed towards the second turbo actuator, we'll see. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

Thanks buddy

It’s says cruise control fault

It makes sense as I press “set” sometimes and nothing happens - press it again and it works

I will change the battery and see how it goes...

Check Speed Control Module for related DTCs and refer to relevant DTC index
Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the power supply and ground connections to the Speed Control Module
Using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system carry out network integrity tests. Refer to electrical circuit diagrams and check CAN circuits if required. Repair wiring as required
If no wiring or network faults found suspect Speed Control Module, Refer to the Warranty Policy and Procedures manual, or determine if any prior approval programme is in operation, prior to the installation of a new module/component
