Air suspension

The message on the dash came up as Suspension will rise when cooled, what does this mean?

Also can anyone tell me how many different types of compressor there are for the suspension please? I am told that there are round boxes in the floor and square boxes. This is all I know at the moment as I am a newcomer to the L322. Current cars

I could be wrong but it seems to me that the compressor has worked too hard/overheating - see what happens when it's had time to cool off. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

That is indeed the reason. The pump is thermally overloaded. You either have a leak somewhere in your system which is resulting in your pump running too often or you have something wrong with the pump itself.

In my experience, the pump may/should run briefly when you first start the engine, but should very rarely run again during your journey unless you adjust the height of the vehicle at any point. A pump that runs regularly indicates a leak somewhere.

The common issues with the pump include a split cover plate, worn piston seal, but way more likely, clogged and restrictive desiccant. If you have no leaks, I would go for a change of desiccant and filter pads first. This certainly fixed my issues which also included a reluctance to lower without going into extended mode.

Put the car in off road height, turn the engine off, leave a door open so the suspension doesn't level and listen to the wheel wells, you should be able to hear the leak.. if you can't then disconnect the battery and see if the car drops overnight, if it doesn't then take a look at your pump.. Pete
